Senior Citizen's Discount on........

A tatoo???? Bwaaa -haaaaa!!!!

So tonight Robert and I took Chris to our new favorite eating establishment, AJ's Poorboys on the 120 Loop next to Kroger. We are sitting outside on the patio discussing the day's events, 0ne of which is Chris working with a local high school on marching and leadership techniques. Robert chimes in with a major event he is supporting for the next couple of days at work. Tony, one of the owners, comes out to say hello and meet Chris.

Now Chris, being the marketing major that he is, wonders if Tony has ever though of employing the 'Happy Hour' concept. That, my friends, is when it all started....... A woman (let's say she was my age, but maybe a little younger bc everyone says I don't look my age) and her Mother (maybe Grandmother) are approaching the entrance, when she hears the words "Happy Hour." Suffice it to say that she stopped dead in her tracks and remarks, "I haven't heard thosse words in thirty years!"

Tony, being the smooth owner/entrepreneur that he is greets the customers and offers a menu. They are taken aback at the wonderful options offered at AJ's, even muffelatas! Whew! So said woman and G'ma sit at the table next to us, and G'ma orders a Corona. (That buys a lot of credibility in our book!) She goes on to tell the story about a time, not too long ago, that her and her friends had just returned from Mexico. They decided they wanted a tattoo and went to a tatoo parlor only to find out 'Senior Discounts are not offered!' This was especially a travesty because tatoos are also not covered by Medicare. Bwaaaa - haaaaa!!!!!!!!!! We almost fell off of our chairs! The great part is that they are locals (or is that locos?) and plan on coming back.
Being that we have visited a minimum of two times per week for the four weeks they have been open, the odds that we will cross paths again is very likely!!!!

BTW, Tony is trying his best to secure an inflatable Corona plane for our back porch. (Pix to come when I take the time to figure that part of this blog out. )

LOL,
Sheri and Robert
